Resumo
This work studies the social performance of Bank do Brazil through the DRS program - Sustainable Regional Development - which seeks to make viable local productive chains and obtain a competitive differential with consequent generation of value to the society. Considering the purpose of this study, the general goal is to determine if the DRS developed in the community of Jaguara, which is located in the city of Feira de Santana BA, has been promoting social inclusion, human development and a better quality of life of the public assisted. This research brings concepts related to Corporate Social Responsibility, Socio Environment Responsibility, Human Development and Business Management literatures. The methodology that was used focuses on a case study. The theoretical basis points to the need to be adopted, by the organizations, of a strategic management, based on correct social and environment concepts and attitudes, based on ethical principles and respect for human life through the development of the members of the societies in which companies are included in. It also demonstrates that the concepts applied in the DRS program are consistent with the purpose of the program. It can be verified that the concepts of social responsibility adopted by BB are integrated to strong principles and values, desired by the society, which promotes, besides the recognition by the society, the human development of the public assisted by the program
