Resumo
This study aims at pointing out the determining factors in choosing the provider of information technology companies located in the Vale do Itajaí - SC. Information technology services is characterized by the development of highly complex activities, and it´s based on processes, people and the environment itself, setting the intangibility of the involved factors. Thus, this study was structured considering the social, human, operational, environmental and market factors, which influence the consumer behavior of this type of service. Situational factors were addressed more generally. Through the questionnaire given to managers of the companies surveyed, it was found that un the item "social values", the opinion of other entrepreneurs in the industry, as well as review of internal staff is crucial and is considered when choosing the provider of services. In relation to “human” factors, it was pointed the flexibility of professionals; in “operational” factors, there is the operational capability of the organization in general, and in relation to the “environmental” factors, the most noteworthy item is the location, but this was not found in literature, which we purposely included in the survey. Historical with other clients, experience, delivery and payment terms are featured among the “market” factors. The brand and company image issues are perceived, but it seems to be less important in the decision. In relation to the “situational” factors, the reputation is the most prominent factor. “Legislation” is one factor perceived, but not in determining their choice
