The purpose of this work is to identify if the Business Intelligence (BI) applications, developed in a SAP/ERP platform generate any value for the enterprises of the financial area, specifically in the “Cajas de Compensación” (Compensation funds institutions industry) (formed by five agents), and if these private enterprises with no profit aims are subject for the prediction models generated by the BI applications, to respond to the Stakeholder demands. It is necessary to point out that “Cajas de Compensación” are private institutions with no profit aims, which have as main objective the generation of welfare to their affiliates, partners and their families, through the delivery of additional benefits which can be in money or social programs. Base on the study, to be identify that in July 2010 three of them representing the 91% of the market in placement amounts of social credit, have chosen to implement ERP/SAP in the development of their information technologies (ICTs) in order to improve the management through obtaining a more accurate and precise information in a long term plan, which considers other applications, such as BI. Finally, through a survey made to the executives responsible for the process of information, to be conclude that in fact, these ICTs, have a performance according to the demands that the market, as well as the regulation organisms have placed on the agents over the last three years, and that despite of the fact of not having profit aims, and having a social objective, the prediction models applications of BI, allows them to make the processes more efficient, improving the performance and meeting, not only the requirements of those who supervise, but also monetizing the patrimony of the Enterprise, maximizing with this the social welfare of the affiliated population.
