Resumo
This study evaluated the perception of employees in the area of the Information Technology (IT), of a great Brazilian state bank, with respect to the strategies in this area of business units, in function of the strategic planning of the institution. The descriptive research, with quantitative method was conducted with a structured questionnaire. The social citizens were the professionals who occupy positions of management, coordination, analysis business-oriented and analyze of systems in the studied bank. The collected data were processed by STATISTICAL techniques, with SPSS V13. The results were presented in the form of through factors that demonstrate the understanding that the staff of the IT company has in relation to business policies established by the administration for the institution. The results highlight, among others, the strategic alignment of the area of IT and technology strategies as factors that define the role of the area of IT to the business of the institution.
