Resumo

Recent developments in technology have made possible to integrate applications, creating a pervasive network. This fact led to a transformation on Internet applications, such as machine-to-machine communication, known as Internet of Things (IoT). Through it numerous applications have been developed, for example industrial monitoring, health, environmental, urban sensor networks, intelligent houses and transport, military defense, Wearables, etc. The present article aims to present the architecture established for a remote monitoring system, applied to the care of domestic animals, called smart leash. This system comprises of sensors integrated through the mobile telecommunications network to a cheap development board, Raspberry Pi, which acts as gateway, and communication with the Internet. Physical and logical aspects, communication protocols, data processing.
